Handwriting Without Tears
Our Curriculum is Handwriting Without Tears. Through this curriculum letters are taught in a developmentally appropriate order rather than alphabetical to help children master skills. Capital letters are taught first in small groups of similar formation. Children master the easier letter groups, and then move to the more difficult letters groups. A multisensory approach helps children develop their writing skills through explicit, multisensory, play based instruction. Children move, touch, feel, and manipulate real objects as they learn the habits and skills essential for writing. Teachers use Music, Letter Stories, Tracing, Air Writing, and Mystery Letter Games to teach letter formation and placement on lines. Curriculum tools will be introduced in our 3K classes and fully implemented in the 4K and Kindergarten classes.
Children will also enjoy Chapel, Spanish and Music classes once a week. Our 3 Plus 4K, 4 Plus, and Kindergarten students also have the opportunity to participate in Karate once a week and Science Club once per month.
